Review:
I went into this film knowing that it was the second film in history to win the top five Oscars (best picture, best actor, best actress, best director and best screenplay), and has been praised as one of Jack Nicholsons more interesting roles and one of the classics of the 70s. Of course, after hearing all this, I had high expectations for One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. But in any case, I was surprised at how easily the film exceeded my expectations and made me realize how easy it is all deserved praise.Based on the novel by Ken Kesey, the story follows Randle Patrick McMurphy (Jack Nicholson), that groped to get out of spending more time in jail for the crime of insanity and sentenced to time in a psychiatric hospital. It was McMurphys intentions, he finds that the conditions in the asylum would be much easier to deal with other difficult to remain in prison. But he quickly discovers that the survival of institutions with its desolate patients (including Christopher Lloyd, Danny DeVito, Vincent Schiavelli and absolutely brilliant Brad Dourif as the stuttering Billy Bibbit) and the monstrously repressive Nurse Ratchet (Louise Fletcher, in a career defining role) is much more difficult than you imagine. McMurphy plays pranks, jokes, and it is a challenge to the rules of the institution in an attempt to lighten the mood. His constant optimism and reckless challenge to date outside the rules of institutions can be very uplifting, and often very funny as well, but most of the film can be very depressing - the general condition of the old institution is a constant (and intentionally) against grim stories with excellent real bitter ending.Jack Nicholson at his best here, a cut above the other great performance as Chinatown or as it gets. McMurphy is an apparently unquenchable optimism, refuses to give in to the spirit defeated all the other patients. Livewire his antics that inspire patients, as a rule, uplifting, and when her indomitable spirit finally broken, we really feel for him and other patients. Nicholson conveys the essence of McMurphy to perfection, demonstrating his excellent understanding and interpretation of the character. When McMurphy announces that he is going to pick up a large stone fountain and throw it through the window to escape, the other patients are so caught up in his intoxicating spirit of freedom that I truly believe that they can do, despite the fact that it would be impossible for man much stronger than him. When McMurphy finally discovers that despite his best efforts, he can not raise the fountain, he openly crushed that we can not help but feel for him. Under the blasphemy frequent and tricks Livewire, there are real human emotions that impress touching. What really be said of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, which has not yet been said? It has an excellent storyline, top notch action, graphic hurt darkly, beautifully set the tone for the film, and it alternates between being really uplifting devastating depressing. He has perhaps the most memorable movie that never ends, next to a man on his horse in the sunset, and leaves the viewer hit by conflicting emotions, unaware of what people think about the picture next to revel in its glorious entirety. It is difficult to produce a final result is better this.-10/10
