I will not give 10 ratings lightly, but here it is - the first film in years, which is worthy rating.Neill Blomkamp brings fantastic displays a clear, realistic piece of science fiction with District 9 is not as Ridley Scott's Blade Runner, John Carpenters thing, or James Camerons Aliens we see in science fiction film with a vision of this caliber. After seeing District 9, it is clear one and all why Peter Jackson put so much faith in Blomkamp and took him under his wing as Prot? G?. Cancel the usual settings Hollywood sci-fi, and puts us in the harsh slums of South Africa, we are given the original piece of work that takes risks, as it tells its story. It is not only contrary to the expectations of the public, who are trained to expect mediocrity of their sci-fi, it goes above and beyond the call of duty to give us a show and something to think about when we are in our fallen world popcorn.There is, fortunately, not too much, over-exposed celebrity in sight, and every unknown face of the film to give a good performance. Foreign himself brilliantly executed top notch CGI even managed to make us feel something, only rivaled by Gollum in The Lord of the Rings.District 9 is like so much. Its impressive, darkly funny, entertaining and thoughtful all at the same time, and all made a meager $ 30m budget. It is a true talent on display here. If only more movies like this, the world of cinema would be more interesting place.
